s11.jpg This is a view of the fairings and the "C" fin. The fairing is 313.5 inches long. The thin line just forward of the fin root is a separation line. When the retro-rockets fire at first stage separation, they blow the fairings off above this point. (The retro-rockets are housed underneath the fairings.) This separation line is 167.9 inches from the base of the fairing. The fairing has 19 stringers spaced evenly across its surface. Only five of the stringers reach all the way to the tip. The fairing tips overlap the fuel tank by 16.3 inches. Quadrant III is up, IIII is behind the viewer.
