The F-1 Engine

The F-1 is the largest liquid-fueled rocket engine ever designed. None have come close to its sheer size and volume of thrust. The design originated in the 1950's, with an Air Force study. When NASA was formed, it brought along the design program and the Saturn rocket family was destined to use it.
